The I Heart Revolution

Was browsing through the old downloaded youtube videos and came across this trailer. This, in my opinion, is one of the most powerful and moving trailers ever created.

Watch.

“I was hungry and You fed me”

“I was thirsty and You gave me a drink”

“I was homeless and You gave me a room”

“I was shivering and You gave me clothes”

“I was sick and You stopped to visit”

“I was in prison and You came to me”

“and the King said, I tell you the truth…”

“Whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for Me

It’s our call,
it’s our mission,
and the time is NOW

Sunrise

Sunrise.

It’s funny how sometimes (mostly weekdays) I dread the coming of dawn, one of the most beautiful time of day. I really like mornings, particularly the moment just before the sun rises till the skies begin to light up with the faintest glow of sunlight. During these twilight moments, I feel like I’m in 2 places at once, living between the memories of yesterday and the dreams I have for today.

Unfortunately, thats not the case for most mornings where I lie under my comforter, curtains closed, my only thought being how much I do not want to wake up for that class at 8. I couldn’t be bothered about that beautiful sunrise, I mean the sun rises every single morning right? 5 minutes of sleep seems much more precious than that.

I’m so glad my Abba is nothing like that. Regardless whether my mood of the morning allows me to appreciate the sunrise or not, He still creates the most beautiful sunrise everyday without fail and dare I say for me.

He’s excited to see lazy me wake up every morning, smiling at my silly attempts to get that extra 5 minutes of sleep or how useless my alarm clock actually is. It’s interesting to see how much God cares for our trivial needs every single day, like how He wakes me up knowing I’ll oversleep without the alarm I turned off 20 minutes ago.

=)

I see your Face in every sunrise,

and fall in love with You all over again.

Capricorn

I just ‘obtained’ Jay Chou’s latest album, Capricorn, from a friend of mine. Not a big fan of Jay but I don’t mind having a collection of his albums on my iTunes. I am a neat freak when it comes to iTunes album artwork. Songs which I can’t find a proper artwork for wont even be added into my iTunes playlist regardless how much I love them. iTunes 8 new (not quite useful but aesthetically pleasing) grid view only adds to this artwork “obsessive compulsive disorder”.

iTunes 8 ‘Grid View’

Anyway, back to Jay’s album. Capricorn is your typical Jay Chou album, if you like the old albums you’ll probably like this. My biggest complain though is the album artwork. This is by far the ugliest, cheapest, most uninspired, distasteful looking album artwork in the history of album artworks.

What in the world is this?!

The artwork looks like a crossover of LOTR, the Korean dragon movie and some cheap Sci-Fi movie gone horribly wrong. Thankfully Jay’s albums are located towards the end of my iTunes library which mean I would not have to look at the appalling artwork unless I’m listening to the album. Then again I could always just switch to List View.

Gonna get back to work, have a great week!

To do…

This picture pretty much sums up my next few weeks.

With deadlines catching up and the ominous mid terms looming over the horizon, oh and not forgetting the dreadful French oral and written exams, there’s lots I have to do but little I want / like to do.

Still, I’m looking forward to it cause I know You’re gonna be there.

Beautiful

Phil Wickham, Beautiful

I see Your face in every sunrise
The colors of the morning are inside Your eyes
The world awakens in the light of the day
I look up to the sky and say
You’re beautiful

I see Your power in the moonlit night
Where planets are in motion and galaxies are bright
We are amazed in the light of the stars
It’s all proclaiming who you are
You’re beautiful

I see you there hanging on a tree
You bled and then you died and then you rose again for me
Now you are sitting on Your heavenly throne
Soon we will be coming home
You’re beautiful

When we arrive at eternity’s shore
Where death is just a memory and tears are no more
We’ll enter in as the wedding bells ring
Your bride will come together and we’ll sing
You’re beautiful

I see Your face, I see Your face, I see Your face
You’re beautiful, You’re beautiful, You’re beautiful

*

“I wrote this song while leading worship at a youth camp. The theme of the Bible study that night was about how God has revealed bits and pieces of Himself in creation. “Beautiful” was born out of that night. I wanted this song to have a hymn feel to it. Mostly because the imagery in the lyrics reminded me of other hymns we sing. There are four verses in this song and each song is part of a progression. The first verse is about how we see the Lords beauty manifest in the morning/daylight. The second verse is about the night sky, and how His beauty is displayed in it. So there in the first two verses there is a “from morning till night” thing going on. The third verse goes on to speak of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and how through his work there He has allowed us to be apart of His pure and blameless beauty. The last verse is the sum of it all. When we reach heavens shores and see Jesus for who He really is… Beautiful.” – Phil Wickham
